Merstow Green Funeral Home respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your Personal Data and complying with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). We are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office under Reference Number: ZA420975.

Personal Data relates to a living individual who can be identified from that data.

This policy explains who we are, what Personal Data we collect and how we process and retain your personal information. The information you provide will be subject to rigorous procedures to minimise the risk of unauthorised disclosure.

Who we are

Merstow Green Funeral Home is the trading name of Merstow Green Limited, registered in England and Wales under Company Registration Number 6348222. We are independent Funeral Directors based at 20 Merstow Green, Evesham, Worcestershire WR11 4BD (this is also our registered address) and we provide funeral related services including repatriations and funeral planning.

Collection of Personal Data

You may personally provide us with information such as your name and address, telephone number, email address, gender, date of birth, financial and payment details and special category Personal Data such as your religion. This is not an exhaustive list.

Data may be received by letter, email, fax, phone, text, in person or via a third-party source.

Information which you have voluntarily provided may also be received via our website at or from third-party websites through which you have made enquiries about our services and given your permission to be contacted. This privacy policy does not cover third-parties therefore please refer to the individual privacy policy of the third-party whose website or search engine you use e.g. Google. We do not use information that has been collected from cookies for marketing purposes.

Use of Personal Data

Our legal basis for processing and sharing personal data is to:

  • Fulfil our professional duty and contracts to arrange funerals and/or provide specific related ancillary

  • Provide pre-paid funeral plans and make end of life arrangements

We do not share or distribute Personal Data to unrelated third parties however we may share personal information with people or companies whom we work closely with if there is a legitimate interest for them to assist in the fulfilment of any of the above services. We will not pass your data to anyone else unless they are successors’ in title to our business or suppliers who assist us with the provision of our services.

Our IT software, computers and mobile phones are password protected and documents containing Personal Data are held in locked cabinets or locked rooms accessible only by employees who require the information for the fulfilment of their duties.

Data Retention

We keep records indefinitely in case you contact us again in the future and/or to comply with legal and regulatory requirements.

You have a right to request a copy of the Personal Data we hold about you and can request us to amend or delete the Personal Data we hold on you.

Please submit your written request to supply or delete information to our postal address or email [email protected] and we will respond to your request within 30 days. If we have obtained information through arranging a funeral, there may be reasons why we are not able to delete all the data we hold on you.

We may change our Privacy Policy from time to time and if we do it will be updated on our website.
